An Ode to Love

She will always be the love of my life...I meet her everyday inspite of the fact that she is someone else's beloved...she gives me peace and happiness in this world full of conflict and confusion ...she belives in me and thats all that matters to me...here is a small 'kavita' which she wrote for me while I was away from her for 7 months...
Mera Binnu

Zindagi ke is rangmanch mein do dashak ka chalchitra hai ubhar aaya,
Bees baras pehle ke drishyo ko saamne tairta paaya,

Paanch baras ka binnu bewazeh daudta paaya

Bas awaaz lagate hee, pawan veg sa aaya!

Nukkad ki dukaan se yadi saaman mangaya,
Aadha liye haath mein aadha girata aaya,
Daanta jab meine baki saaman bhi
Chatse paas khade tommy ko tha khilaya

Ruuste bisurte binnu ko meine badi mushkil se manaya
Sang sang uske tommy ko bhi jabran thapthapaaya
Bola Ma mein puppy banoonga
Sada teri god mein laad karunga
Gusse ke badle mein muskurayi Bacchhe ke bholepan par meri mamta umad aayi!

Kuch bada hua to bana cricket khiladi

Acchhe acchhe ballebaaz uske aage lagte the anadi

Ek din balcony se dekh rahi thi nazara

Du manzila khidki ka kaach tut ke neeche aaya

Vegvaan ball ka bojh seh na paaya

Jab tak us makan ki malkin thi neeche aayi
Tab tak saari ki saari team nadarad pai!

Bas khada vaha tha sach ka ek sipahi

Gusse bhari daat bas akele usne hee thi khayi

Tabhi kuch bacchiya daud ke saamne aayi

Iski galti nahi hai, zor se woh chillayi!

Bhari man se meine us se iska sabab tha poocha

Uttar diya mujhko usne bada anutha
Bola Ma mere zhidki khane se khatm hua hai kissa

Fark nahi padta hai kyu ki mein bhi hu us hee team ka hissa,

Kuch na keh bas meine pee liya apna gussa!

Baarish ke din the aur hum baithe the ghar ke andar

Poocha meine bade hokar kya banega mera mast kalandar

Bola jab ek ped se duje ped par bandar ki Ma uchla karti hai
Apne bacche ko hamesha saath liya karti hai,

Ma mein bhi banke rahunga tera bandar

Chahe jaana pade mujh ko paar saat samundar
Aisa uttar sunke mein hasi rok na payi

Uski maasumiyat par mein balihari jai!

Yuva hokar jab bacchhe chale jaate hai saat samundar paar

Email chat aur telephone ki ghanti ka Ma karti hai intezar
Yadi bachpan mein kuch aur pal unke saath jiya hota

Aaj akele mein man yu na udas hua hota!

Ma chitrakatha ki pustak mein zara rang bhar de
Homework ke do sawaal jaldi se hal kar de

Ma ek aur kahani suna de
Thodi si lori aur suna de
Phir kar doongi kehke Ma karya rat ho jaati
Ek din mein 24 ghante kam padte hai, yehi sochti jati!

Kal waqt nahi tha aur unki nanhi bholi baatoon se aksar hote the bezaar

Aaj unhee palo ko yaad kar, karte hai ek ek pal ka intezaar!

She is my Mom...I hope...no...I know, that I will be a good son to her...
Love always,
Binnu!!

Bangalore ke Doston Ko Salaam!!

Like a few stray n random thoughts written by me at 3 am on my last night in Bangalore.....all my own work (hehe...Behram Contractor will turn in his grave)!!

Like it all started on 29th January, a beautiful sunday morning when i arrived at the Bangalore airport knowing absolutely nothing about the city or the people or even my job profile for that matter! Harish was there at the airport and we went directly to what was to be my first (and the most beautiful) abode in Bangalore (Polaki's Diamond District flat)....A million thanks to you Anil for letting me stay on (i was going to stay for a day or two, ended up staying for 3 whole weeks). U r a Gem dude....a little rusty...but a Gem nevertheless!!

Like the work was all right...i mean i had access to gtalk n orkut...how tough could it get!!

Like every story has a hero...n u wud think with all my good looks it shud be me, but hey i am just the author...as Mariah Carey once sang the song 'n the hero lies in Draz'!! By saying thank you to Draz, I would be belittling all that he did for me...right from getting tht pearl drop flat to furnishing it to everything else...silly incident...but once , my door lock was not working n i was unable to goto my office...wht did i do...called draz...he travels 10 km....comes to my place...gives one punch to the lock...lo n behold...problem solved!! U going thru a tough time dude...but hey...when the going gets tough, the tough get going (and believe me, nobody more tougher than u, specially with that rod)!!

Like there was this girl in my class at school called Anu....we never said even 'hi' to each other ...n guess what...Bangalore gave me one of my best friends in her. I hope this friendship lasts forever. U have been a gr8 friend to everyone...specially after the tragic incident u guys @ 3M went thru...U r the best girl (even though u n Draz scandalized me @ Opus!!)

Like a breath of fresh air entered my dear friend Tanvir (Mihir to some maybe, for me it shall always be Tanvir) and his 'Goonda' dialogues. Apna live-in relationship mast tha na dost!!

Like every workplace has a troublemaker...mine did too...some Mangalorean guy called Santhosh...typical guy...oversmart, haughty, egoistic...but absolutely useless!! Hehe...this is my blog Santhosh...i ll write whatever i want too ...n whats more...i ll delete all ur nasty comments!! Thanks pal...u have been a gr8 friend...made me look forward to coming to office (even if it was to pull ur leg with my elderly friend Ramesh's help!!).

Like any description of my stay wud be incomplete without a mention of the gr8 Manish...like the time he took me too Mussoorie....n then to Coorg....saala, he didnt move his ass for 3 whole days...Laziness has a new synonym, Manish!!

Like my childhood dream was realized in Bangalore when i gifted beautiful 'Kangans' to my mom and fulfilled my bachpan ka promise (thanks to Draz's mom)....another proud moment was buying a rod with an ulterior motive (ya thts right, dont know y, but am proud of that)!!

Like those were the days of happiness, those weekend movies....tht megabowl ka bowling...those masti bhari parties...those weekends at my place doing nothing...

Like 'hariya, mere dost'...u were always there (whenever ur office frnds didnt take u out n ur roomies also ditched u)...By now u shd have guessed it yar...Jus kiddin!!

Like a famous Hindi poet had once said and I quote

" kaise bhula paaoonga mein dost, woh humara dostana, woh humara yaarana
Yaad rakhunga mein dost, woh humara dostana, woh humara yaraana"

Welingkar's Ki Yaadein!!

A poem I wrote as testimonial to a dear friend ravi...but its more a story of our lives in second year MBA at Welingkars...it actually a reflection of what we were at that time ...all of us...harish, jayant, sachin, amol anil n others... btw ..baba = binni...

Woh Dosti ko Padhai ke aage rakhna

Hamesha Hariya aur Baba ko group mein lena

Woh Musibat ke waqt tan ke khade ho jaana

Dosto ke liye sab kuch dau pe lagana

Kaise bhula paoonga mein dost

Woh Humara Dostana

Woh Humara Yaarana

Woh hasi-mazak ki class ka na hona

Humara awal number reh jaana

Woh marks ka batna, baaki baccho ka khush hona

Humare paas wohi 50 number reh jaana

Kaise bhula paoonga mein dost

Woh Humara Dostana

Woh Humara Yaarana

Woh venky ki class

Woh naukri ki aas

Woh TT ki pyaas

Woh project third class

Yaad rakhoonga mein dost

Woh Humara Dostana

Woh Humara Yaarana

miss all of you guys...stay in touch

Life In The "Books' Lane!!

Let me start by writing about my favourite topic...Books. I would like to begin by talking about my favourite book 'the Godfather' by Mario Puzo. Hey whats that...err..ok...the Godfather just called and he made me an offer I could not refuse. So sorry guys, I cant write anything about this book!!
Let me do something better than write about a book. I will write about two books!! Wow!! So here goes nothing...
The two books I am going to talk about were written 50 years apart but one cant help but notice that the similarities in their storylines as also in their charachters is just mind boggling. The books are, but ofcourse, 'Lord of the Rings ' by J R R Tolkein and 'Harry Potter' by J K Rowling.
Both the books are based on similar concepts wherein 'Little People', 'Hobbits' in LOTR and children in HP, save the world from an evil force.
The main hero in both the books, Frodo and Harry, are very normal 'every day Joe' types who rise to great heights mainly because of their own determination.
Just like in Hindi movies where the hero has a sidekick, so do Frodo and Harry. The friendship between Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin in LOTR is similar to what Harry, Ron and Hermoine have in HP.
And pray tell me what is the difference between Gandalf in LOTR and Dumbledore in HP. They are both father figures who inspire the hero to achieve his goal.
Which brings us to the evil forces in the books. Both Sauron and Voldemort are actually brilliant minds which have gone over to the 'Dark Side'. Just like the ten-headed deamon Ravana in Ramayana who actually did not have ten heads but had the intellectual capacity of ten people, both Voldemort and Sauron are great intellectuals who have turned evil.
So my question goes...why on middle earth did J K Rowling have to get so much inspiration from LOTR!! Well, I guess, since she was able to recreate LOTR's magic after 50 years and represent it in an endearing format called HP, we can all just say..Kudos to you JK Rowling, and to you too, J R R Tolkien!!
I have to go home now. So goodbye. Oh no, whats that, once again I have forgotten where i kept my broom....
